Think Tank Now Forming

The Stephens Group will be hosting a Digital Media Conference at The Milwaukee Public Museum during the Summer of 2007. The conference will be worth two graduate credits from Cardinal Stritch University. Teachers will be working in collaborative groups with an instructor from Cardinal Stritch University and a curator from the museum on an assigned exhibit in the museum. Each group will produce 2 digital stills that can be uploaded to the museum web site, a podcast no more than 3 minutes, an audio tour, and a short digital movie that can be used by the museum. There will also be a strand on distance learning. Skills learned in this experience will assist teachers to utilize digital media skills and distance learning in the classroom setting as it impacts teaching and learning for students. This opportunity is open to all K-12 educators. We are hoping to have 300 educators attend. Teams using both PC and Mac platforms are testing out the process this summer and fall. If you would like to join some of our brainstorming sessions (most likely to occur online) email Tammy Stephens at tstephens@thestephensgroup.com . We are especially looking for ways we can market this conference on a national level. Check out this blog for continuing coverage our progress on the conference.
