As user-generated content and social networking take over student social lives, can they also be used for instruction? By leveraging these new technologies within the school firewall, teachers and students make the most of technology for collaborative learning. They also have the opportunity to discuss acceptable behavior and learn how to be responsible members of an online community. We discuss positive uses of these technologies and lessons learned by practitioners.
